Reflections Original Canvas

"Reflections" is a painting created with acrylics by Giselle Ibarra. Made in 2023. During her months of therapy - Ibarra was asked to explore different versions of herself and how these versions were still very much alive inside of her and played roll in her being. The three women seen floating in the sky are symbolic of her child self, youth self, and adult self (which is most opaque.) Representing how those versions, although very far away in years, are still present to the person she is today. On the lower right corner of the painting there appears to be a page lifting, representing the beginning of a new chapter with all knowledge gained. A letter Ibarra's therapist suggested she dedicate to herself. This is what the note reads: 
"I hope you find yourself again. I hope you realize that there is so much beauty in life yet to be discovered. I hope you find laughter. I hope you learn to heal your inner child. I hope you realize that everything you want is already inside you. The magic you search for runs in your bones. I hope you meet little you again, to tell them they are safe. I hope you learn that everything that once broke you is actually meant to set you free. And above all, I hope you feel happy. I hope joy fills your bones so deeply light beams out of you every time you smile. You are deserving of a new chapter."
